A little insight into new UK wine retailer DropWines. Richard Verney (described as ‘Our Wine Expert’, which I assume to mean wine buyer) and the lovely, if slightly giggly, Sophie Mclean, who is the media, PR, content, twitter-type person at DropWines. Sophie is also a good friend of mine. We recently shared a mug or two of Billecart-Salmon Rosé Champagne with other friends. In a London public garden. In the rain.

Don’t you wish you could try, just a sip, of the rejected wines. You know, just to see how awful they actually are…

A Drop of DropWines

From this tasting DropWines now aim to list the Las Bodegas Le Malbec 2010 Malbrontes for £8.49 and the Seda Vermella Rioja Tempranillo 2011, also £8.49, from next week. They also expect to list the Lorgeril 1620 Pays D’oc Malbec at some point later on in the summer for £7.99. “Of course VIPs pay less…”, (VIPs being the DropWines members…)
