Simon Berry of Berry BrothersHaving just starred in my own first audiocast everyone is now jumping on the bandwagon! Berry Brothers, the esteemed London wine merchant, skipping along at a trend-setting 309 years old, has followed suit with their first cast.

"Simon Berry, Chairman of Berry Bros. & Rudd, introduces the first episode – about the upcoming Bordeaux 2006 en primeur tastings – direct from ‘the parlour’ at the back of the eponymous London shop in the heart of St. James’s.

This is the first in a series of audio podcasts from the oldest wine merchant in the world. There are immediate plans for daily audio reports from the Bordeaux en primeur tastings during the week commencing 2nd April and, moving forward, episodes on topics as varied as matching food and wine, and an introduction to the fundamentals of wine (with content from and presented by the course leaders of the fabled Berry’s Wine School)."

The Berry Brothers audiocast can be listened to/subscribe to via http://www.bbr.com/podcask.

Sounds interesting.

I wish however they would put a bit of effort into getting their "wine splash" working again. This was a desktop application for the PC that gave daily news plus a quiz, the latter of which was always a good test of wine knowledge.

I re-installed the app at home not having used it for some time and wondered why it never popped up daily. I finally got a response to my emails from the developer of the application who told me that due to staffing at BBR the application was not live at present.
