About to appear in a present near you – probably from your gran – a Chocolate Infused Port. Sounds terrible. But Marks and Spencer’s have this listed ready for the season at £6.99. It is a blend of ruby port with chocolate essence and an ABV of 15%.

Indications are that this is for this year only; sightings have been ‘none’ in following years.

I was introduced to Chocolate Ruby wine at the Milton Keynes branch of M&S last year and fell in love instantly.
Then to my horror in January I went back to the shop to buy more when I was told they had permanently removed it from their shelves. Why?
I would like to find it again where can I buy it.

  2. Andrew says:

Chocolate Infused Port would have been a Christmas only listed. We will have to wait until the Winter, sadly, for more.

  3. Mike Nolan says:

This is a Christmas line unfortunately and was a great line for M&S to sell and should be available again around October time. I have never been a fan of port but this was certainly different. Its not something you could drink a lot of but smooth enough for a few glasses.

  4. Jane says:

Has anyone found a replacement for this yet? I fell in love with the M&S version last year and have dutifully waited until the following christmas to buy more to discover they aren’t stocking it!! Anyone know where I can get this or another version?

  5. missaverre says:

Jane, I’m not sure which store you went to or how often you checked but it was definitely a line M&S had in for Christmas 2007.

  6. margaret says:

Wine Tasting Tuscan Style

Opening with the ‘basic’ wines he was almost apologetic at their simplicity. Personally I found them a delight; no idea of price at the time (the top of the range comes in at a very reasonable €20 cellar door) but to a bottle these ‘lesser’ wines were lovely, offering a balanced richness, a true regional acidic streak in the RI.VA.LE Chianti and a touch riper, softer palate to the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
