diamondChampagne.pngTo you an estimated US$13,200 - with the money going to charity. But the bottle, encrusted with 49 diamonds, is of higher value than the sparkling wine it contains. The auction is to take place on the 22nd January.

" The diamond-studded bottle of Kattus Hochriegl contains sparkling wine from the year 2004 and is worth some €10,000 (US$13,200), said Ernst Polsterer-Kattus, who runs the Vienna-based company with his wife, Maria.

It took a Vienna jeweller 38 hours to glue the diamonds to the bottle, Polsterer-Kattus said, noting that his wife came up with the idea.
