Domaine du Tariquet - Two White Wines

In addition to the Domaine du Tariquet Rosé that made such an interesting partner to Garlic Soup I received two further wines in the range that have recently been released under screw-cap. Ithier Bouchard, export manager for the company is quite adamant that screw caps are the future for Domaine du Tariquet wines, ensuring freshness and quality every time.

Wine Tasting Note: Domaine du Tariquet Sauvignon Blanc, 2006, VdP des Cotes de Gascogne, France.
Pale lemon colour and a 'pale' lemony aroma. More action on the palate with an edge of sherbet on the finish after a medium-bodied, lightly honeyed, lemony brst of flavour. Straw and a touch of minerality lead into orange rind complexity.

Wine Tasting Note: Domaine du Tariquet Côté Tariquet, 2006, VdP des Cotes de Gascogne, France.

A 50-50 split between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. A tantalising aroma mixing floral touches with honey, citrus and pineapple. The flavours are similar with an up-front splash of pineapple, a hint of minerality and a little grapefruit. Red apple flavours abound on the finish. Alcohol 11.5%.

BACKGROUND TO THE GRASSA FAMILY
