Snooth Wine Search:

My knowledge of the retail scene outside of the UK is patchy to say the least. I have, therefore, little I can offer Lisa (of Lekker Lekker Lekkerste food blog fame) who writes
I have been experimenting with food and wine pairing more and more recently - sometimes more successfully than the rest. One of the problems I find about choosing wine here is references. I mainly read English books, magazines and websites and sometimes I can't buy the wine that is listed in the blogs or magazines in NL or Germany. You can't get a wine which is so widely available in UK - Naked Grape by Dr Loosen for instance here! It is getting frustrating! And to be honest, I don't really like the reviews they do in Dutch.

Sometimes I get lucky - I found a fabulous wine and later even found them reviewed in your blog for instance Quinta De Chocapalha which I completely loved!

Do you know of any good guide on buying wine in NL and Germany - in English please!"

Can anyone offer some recommendations on the Dutch/German wine scene? I am sure Lisa will be most appreciative.

Hi Andy,
wow thanks for responding so quickly and putting this up on your blog! You're a star.

Yeah that's the one I am looking for wine buying guide - not just for the German or French wine but preferably the new world as well. I think I would learn more about matching through blogs, magazines review etc... that's how I have been doing it.
I go to a few good wine merchants in my neck of woods - www.dielen.nl, www.winecompanions.nl and they are all good (and they deliver free of charge!) but in Germany where alcohol is about 20-30 percent cheaper than NL, and English is less spoken, I am almost lost unless well you know the Lehmann etc variety which you can get at good supermarkets - the rest I am like a blind person hahahahaha.
Please help!!!
Lisa
