Did you know that the famous St John restaurant has a wine shop? And an online outlet too? Well indeed they do. HGWines (Henderson Gulliver Wines) operates under http://www.hgwines.co.uk/ and offer a concise range of French wines. The list stretches from own label red and white at £4.99 on to the house champagne (Champagne Milan).

I seem to recall that the red we consumed with gusto on my first visit (sometime ago now) was a Pic St Loup, and mighty fine it was too. That was PB - pre-blog. A great touch in the wine description listings is the use of a google map to show origin and, if you click the pin, details of the vineyard/producer - just in case you fancy a visit I suppose.

Not sure where you go in each of the eateries to buy the wines (from the bar I guess) but if ordering online a minimum order of 12 bottles is required with a delivery charge of £7.50 for central London, outside the capital is charged at cost. If you are after a decent bottle of bubbly (for Sam's Wine Blogging Wednesday perhaps) the offers page has Dom Ruinart 1993 at £60 (save £15) plus a short listing of 2005 En Primeur
