You may have read about the old bottle of wine plastered with Adolf Hitlers face (Tim at WinePost first alerted me to the wine). The Fuhrerwein, with an alcohol level of 12%, was from a collection believed to have been given to Hitler's officers during the Second World War to celebrate his 54th birthday.

The bottle was put up for auction and sold today for £3,995.

Heard about this on the radio. Undrinkable apparently. With all this global warming and tales of grape harvests in the south of England, I'm getting horible images of bottles of Tonyblairwein.

Hi,
thats a shocking News. In Germany we have a skandal two years before with new winebottles form Italy with Pictures from Hitler or many Nazisymbols.

I have wrigt something in my blog:

greetings from germany

P.s.: Whats the source of the picture in this posting?
