The world is split into two groups - those who place great reliance on wine competitions and everyone else. The results of the 7th edition of the Muscats du Monde international wine competition were announced a few days ago. This competition is restricted to Muscat wines only and was held from over the 20th/21st July 2007 in the Languedoc-Roussillon city of Frontignan-la-Peyrade.

Over the course of two days, international experts tasted more than 200 Muscat wines from all over the world. The 2007 awards list from Muscat du Monde is an opportunity to discover the incomparable palette of aromas that Muscat wines can display.

The international judges awarded 69 medals from 210 wines representing 23 different countries. Of the gold medals France dominated but there are winners from South Africa, Chile, Greece, Italy and surprisingly Romania and Lebanon.

The full list of medal winners are detailed on the Muscats Du Monde website.
