There is a little wine museum in the centre of Metsovo, Greece. Luckily it is within easy walking distance of the Katogi Averoff hotel and winery. I wouldn’t make a special journey for the museum alone, although it makes for a pleasant diversion for an hour or two. The most interesting exhibits are upstairs – a small gallery of wine related photographs (mostly of vineyard works back ‘in the day’) and a table of old wines.
I do wonder whether the contents of this Olympus Red Table Wine 1967 is original, the neck level seems quite high and the colour is rather deep of hue. Perhaps though this is how Rapsani wines do actually age.
