The Conran owned Le Pont de la Tour runs a Wine Discovery Club where the manager, Walter Speller, has created a range of events for people to discover and learn about wines.
  • Speed Master Classes: a one hour talk with a wine maker and a tasting of his or her wines. Scheduled during week days from 06.45pm until 07.45pm. A standing reception in the Wine Merchant.
  • Tastings: these have a more global, generic character and inform on regions, grapes, and styles and are mostly presented by trade people with expertise on the subject.
  • Work shops: an interactive fun way of getting to know wine and demystifying some of the old myths that can obstruct the genuine enjoyment of the most fascinating of drinks. Insightful information and simple clear instructions, fun exercises aimed at strengthening the participant’s awareness and confidence in their own palate and at the same time show the subjectivity of taste.
  • Fine Wine Encounters - a series of high class tastings held in the Salon Prive, with rare wines and tutored by the winemaker/proprietor, followed by a 'menu prestige' in the restaurant that matches the fine wines to dishes specially created for the occasion.
The next event is a tasting of Chateau Pichon Longeville on Tuesday 25th April. Places for this exclusive event will be payable in advance at £75.00 per person. This charge includes the pre dinner tasting, a five course Menu de Prestige including all wines by the glass.
