A long and illustrious history with many highs and lows. Quality is now restored to the famous Plymouth Gin, with a return to its original recipe and new packaging. A visit to the distillery in Plymouth is highly recommended; more details to follow. Advice from the Rectory Bar manager (a visit here after dark should also be on the must-do list) – Plymouth gin really shouldn’t be served with a garnish, it is citrusy enough already (but if you simply must then garnish with a slice of lemon). Like all gins, Plymouth should be served over plenty of ice.

Plymouth Gin Bottles – just a selection of historic Plymouth Gin bottles on display in the Plymouth Distillery, this weeks Sunday Wine Shot.
