Tasting at L’Arbre a Vins Wine Bar

a mighty fine establishment in Vaison-la-Romaine

By In Photographs, Rhone Travels
I love the tones and limited colour palate in this photo. It’s a simple shot taken in a wine bar in the centre of Vaison-la-Romaine, Vaucluse, France. The L’Arbre a Vins Wine Bar hosted a little wine tasting for our party on the first night of our Rhone exploration.

The wines tasted covered the styles from across the Rhone – rosés (a Tavel from Domaine de la Mordorée stood out), whites (including a fine Viognier from Domaine de la Janasse) and reds (such as a Vinsobres from Domaine Vallot le Coriançon) and a glorious Vin Doux Naturel Rasteau Ambré (from Domaine des Escaravailles). Unusually my credit card made an appearance and I left with a bottle of a Cairanne, also from Domaine des Excaravailles (also pictured).

I have to admit the Rhone is a region I would like to visit and get to know well. The images look gorgeous!

It is certainly one I am relishing a return to. Keep an eye on my blogs for more Rhone Travel suggestions… perhaps they will entice you to actually get down there!
