"Georgia’s Agriculture Ministry on Monday announced the results of an independent examination of its wine in France. "According to the results of laboratory tests carried out in France no pesticides were found in Georgian wines," Agriculture Minister Mikhail Svimonishvili told journalists. "At the end of May we sent samples of our wines to France, Italy, and Switzerland. A reply from France says that Georgian wines meet safety requirements for people," the minister said. Tbilisi hopes to get a reply from Italy and Switzerland shortly. Earlier, Svimonishvili said, "The quality of Georgian wine conforms to all world standards."
