Lolita - vintage bike and sidecar

OK, so perhaps a full weeks tour on these little beauts might get a touch wearisome; but for a day (and you can get through several vineyards if you have the stamina) can I recommend these marvellous vintage bikes and sidecars.

You don’t get to drive but sit in the sidecar. Immense fun; I don’t think I stopped grinning the whole journey! and you turn heads aplenty. Just wave back… Mine was Lolita… saucy little minx…

Vintage Sidecars organised through Go Cape Tourism Services. More pictures of the bikes on flickr.

Wow! What an amazing experience to ride exposed to the air in a side car. Lolita looks to be a fine companion to make the journey, and might I add, impeccably clean. I never would have thought to do something like this before seeing it as a possible attraction.

  2. Fun! How come you get to do all the fun stuff!?
Looks like countrylife is not so bad, now, is it? ;-)

  3. Kang says:

amazing way to travel around vineyard, it’s just the road and wine!

  4. What a great way to get around.
Awesome if you are the passenger! But it could get a little dodgy if you taste and ride :-)

Wine Tasting Tuscan Style

Opening with the ‘basic’ wines he was almost apologetic at their simplicity. Personally I found them a delight; no idea of price at the time (the top of the range comes in at a very reasonable €20 cellar door) but to a bottle these ‘lesser’ wines were lovely, offering a balanced richness, a true regional acidic streak in the RI.VA.LE Chianti and a touch riper, softer palate to the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
