Nicolas is the Skalli Family Wines Americas' brand ambassador he arrived in July will be spending the following 18 months exploring America and sharing his adventures on his blog. He is traveling the country discovering America and spreading the news about his various wine brands: Robert Skalli (South of France), Maison Bouachon (Rhone Valley), and Clos Poggiale (Corsica).
This is a glimpse of life in the wine industry and a glimpse of a young Frenchman's discovery of the United States."
I believe Nicolas' plans to have some guest bloggers posting this month, including winemaker Laurent Sauvage with some updates on harvest in the South of France.
New Blog 2: Dombeya Wines, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Dombeya Wines are a small producer (4500 cases a year) in Stellenbosch, South Africa who have just started an on-line blog.
We're trying to make it as interesting and diverse as possible with some video tastings and wine production info so hopefully this will be something that people will gravitate towards over time."
Not being familiar with this winery I'm not sure if their wines are available in the UK; perhaps they can enlighten...
New Blog 3: Folie a Deux Winery, Napa Valley. Californina (pictured)
They have a new intern, William Goebel, who is blogging about the daily life of being a harvest intern.
True nitty-gritty stuff, no fluff. I've seen blogs by winemakers and plenty by winery marketing types, but rarely have I seen one by the lowly intern. As many of us know, they are the ones that do all the REAL work."
The concept here is that consumers may live vicariously through William, and hopefully Folie a Deux can gain some recognition for doing something different.

Wow, I love the layout of Dombeya Wines website. Those rich sunset colors paired with black silhouettes are superb.
Similarly, I feel a connection to William's blog if not for the simple reason that I write about the same thing--well, sort of. I wasn't an intern, I was a worker under Bacchus Management living on Tin Cross Vineyards. The postings I write for the blog now are based on my experiences living and working on the vineyard, that's where we connect.

It is a great looking site but I wonder if the design is so different from normal blogs that it would put people off exploring?

Guys,
Thanks for the kind words. The background changes in colour throughout the day, in keeping with the time of day- a nice touch by the design team.
Once you have a look around the navigation is pretty simple ( at least to me, anyway). I hope it doesn't put anyone off but I'd like to know if anyone finds it an issue.
It has been noted but Lea and Sandeman are our importer and distributor in the UK- great guys who really know their wine, we're very glad that they found us!
One last plug- our Boulder Road Shiraz just won Gold and Best in Class at the International Wine and Spirits Competition this week in London...sells for around the 10 to 11 quid mark at L&S.
All the best
