Tuscan Wine Tour For Photographers

florence_wine_tour-6We are delighted to have teamed up with Vineyard Adventures to offer a bespoke wine and food tour of Tuscany specifically designed for photographers. Over 5 days in October 2014 we will take you through the streets of Florence selecting the very best eateries and wine bars the city has to offer. This will be followed by the unique opportunity to visit three fantastic vineyards, with two over-nights stays, tasting the wines and other local produce in the most beautiful and photographic of regions.

The small group tour, a maximum of 6 places are available, will give the photographer an opportunity to engage in all manner of techniques – low light, street, urban, long exposure, HDR, food and so on. If you are willing a dawn shoot over the vineyards is unmissable! Drawing on local experts their in-depth knowledge will bring the culinary delights of Tuscany to the fore.

We have managed to secure one of my favourite Italian food photographers, Ilva Beretta, to host a Food Photography workshop.

The tour combines my three prime passions – wine, food and photography. I do hope you can join us.

  • Guided walks through Florence taking in all the cultural highlights, the food markets and hidden treasures
  • Hands-on Food Photography workshop with Ilva Beretta
  • Informal, fun, wine and food tastings in Florence
  • Vineyard visits including an overnight stay and, weather permitting, a picnic amongst the vines
  • A fantastic Sunday Brunch with wide ranging views across the city skyline
  • Engage in all types of photography: HDR, street, travel, long exposure…
  • Italian speaking guides
  • Camera Equipment: To gain the most from this trip an SLR or bridge camera is probably the best; however the newer and more powerful compact cameras and some camera phones can produce impressive results (Some of the photographs in the gallery below were taken using a Nokia Lumia mobile). A tripod would also be beneficial. Feel free to bring filters and other such equipment. All skill levels can be catered for.
  • Wine Knowledge: On the wine front no pre-knowledge is required; advice can be given but the idea is to enjoy the wines and other drinks, not analyse! But the local experts can indeed get technical if required.
