Visiting The Saint Joseph Vineyards on a Segway

Darh-ling, it's simply the only way to travel!

By In Photographs, Rhone Travels
Here you see the delightful Karen Burns-Booth taking things gently while on a Segway. Behind just a snatch of the extensive St. Joseph vineyards that smother the hillside behind Tournon-sur-Rhône. It certainly makes for a fun excursion and a unique way to get up close to the vines.

If you find yourself in Tournon, perhaps staying at the marvellous Hotel de la Villeon, a Segway ride up the hillside can be arrange via Marie-Josée at her little wine shop Faure Les Sens Ciel. Wine tastings can also be arranged. A Segway ride and a slurp of wine – how much more fun do you need?

Incidentally, Karen writes a rather good food blog under the Lavender and Lovage moniker. The Segway hire includes a practice session to get your balance and familiarise yourself with the bike.
