Sometimes it is just impossible to take meaningful tasting notes. Lounging by the side of the Thames at the quintessential summer fun that is the Henley Regatta last Saturday was one such moment.
The Pimms was flowing, the company eclectic and enormous fun and the food mouthwateringly delicious. Before mellowing into a lazy afternoon a glass of cool, frothing bubbly is 'de rigueur'.

Wine Tasting Note: Allan Scott Blanc de Blanc, NV, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Available for £12.99 from Surf4Wine [more]
All to recall is the yeasty quality to the nose, the persistant stream of bubbles, a delicious mouthful and wounderful flavours. It's ripe, full, lemony and backed up by a quality yeasty edge. It set the day off perfectly.
Scribblings Rating - 92/100 [4 out of 5]

Hey Andrew,
I just got back from New Zealand and unfortunately Alan Scott did not have any Blanc de Blancs out for tasting. I hear it's outstanding! Your blog is most interesting and I look forward to keeping up with your posts.
Cheers! Elizabeth
