Tesco for £6.99.
Good fresh, lightly honeyed aroma, a touch of wax and a sprinkling of herbs. Very inviting. Palate has a nice crisp finish but the weighty feel might come from a touch of residual sugar, (not a bad thing!). Flavours of melon with a citrus edge mix with a touch of spice - no doubt from the Viognier component.
Scribblings Rating - 86/100

This was served with Spaghetti alla Carrettiera, from the May issue of Delicious Magazine. It's 'Cart Driver Sauce', a speciality of Rome, where a mix of tinned tuna, pancetta and mushrooms, topped with parmesan and parsley is served over pasta. A lovely combination and a joy with the wine. Delicious suggests a that "the dish can certainly take a light fruity red, such as Italian Bardolino". Something to try next time.
