Aquired a 3/4 full bottle of this yesterday, a wine left over from a sampling session for a hotel's wine list. It had been open a while so plenty of time to open out and offer a delightful violet edged perfume resplendent with cassis and red fruits. Palate finishes with soft though plentiful tannins and rich blackcurrant flavours. An edge of chocolate and spice-licked berry flavours adds complexity. Full bodied. Alcohol 14.26%. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates but Merlot and Cabernet Franc included. Production just 530 cases. Really needs a taming with food - lamb, steak and game being the obvious choices.
