You can’t visit a winery without seeing their tanks… and their bottling line… and their warehouse… and, as here, some piping. It’s at moments like this that one of my (more annoying) catch phrases gets a repeat airing “I loves me a stainless steel tank of a morning…”*. Ignore my sarcasm, such visits can be interesting, if only to see how clean the winery is (and I’ve seen some truly terrible places that really put you off the wines!). No such cleanliness problems in Turkey. Here gleaming stainless steel tubing at the Sevilen Winery.

Winery Stainless Steel – the latest in the regular Sunday Wine Snapshots series highlighting photographs with a wine related theme, whether bottles, glasses, vineyards or the back scenes of wineries

* I’m sure someone will pipe up that I write the very same bloody thing everytime I post a picture of winery stainless steel…

Wine Tasting Tuscan Style

Opening with the ‘basic’ wines he was almost apologetic at their simplicity. Personally I found them a delight; no idea of price at the time (the top of the range comes in at a very reasonable €20 cellar door) but to a bottle these ‘lesser’ wines were lovely, offering a balanced richness, a true regional acidic streak in the RI.VA.LE Chianti and a touch riper, softer palate to the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
