Winery Worker, Sicily

By Andrew Barrow In Photographs
Slipping gently into 2014… the excesses of the past month have final caught up with a run of chills and colds and the addition of a few pounds to the weight. (That calorie counter app fell by the wayside in front of all those mince pies it would seem!). Now 5 days in and it is one of those terribly dull and grey days that weigh heavy and bring a longing for spring and an opportunity to look back over the past year. In my case to all those stupendous wine trips I managed to get on and the reams of photos taken that have yet to see the light of day. Here be one – a hasty snap in the Valle dell Acate winery in Sicily, looking down into a long hall where a tasting was about to commence. This chap, a winery worker of some sort, clearing the decks as we approached, caught in the light from a barely opened door.

Some of my best photos have been at wineries/vineyards. It is a bonus that some of my favorite places are so beautiful and create great works of art. I love this picture. Keep up the great work! I wish I could do the Tuscany trip. I am sure it will be epic.
