This coming April sees South Africa celebrating 20 years of democracy. Wines of South Africa (WOSA) has launched the first in a series of short videos, entitled The Democracy Series, which tell the personal stories of how transformation in the wine industry over the last 20 years has touched the lives of individuals working within it. They plan to release a new video each week.

Each of the powerful stories in the series charts a journey of progress for the individual. Each has seized the opportunity to improve their lives for themselves and their families, for future generations. The individual videos are two and a half to three minutes long and end with a quote from the late Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first democratically elected president, who came to power in 1994.

“The Democracy Series gives expression at a human level to the impact of many transformation initiatives occurring throughout the wine industry. These range from black economic empowerment ventures to bursary and training programmes, as well as to various eco and social sustainability projects. Andre Morgenthal, communications manager”
